Mãe a tempo inteiro/ Full time mom

Sou mãe a tempo inteiro.
Desde sempre que me lembro de querer muito ser mãe.
É a melhor coisa da vida, a maior felicidade e o maior milagre!
Mas também é a maior canseira…
Trabalhei 12 anos fora e há cerca de 2 que estou em casa e deixem-me que vos diga que trabalhar fora são férias!
Trabalhei numa loja de roupas, fui assistente de bordo, secretária, sempre fiz horas extraordinárias e nem se compara…
E irrita-me solenemente quando me perguntam com ar condescendente se sou “doméstica” (comos se fosse um electrodoméstico) ou “desempregada”…
Não, não sou nem uma coisa nem outra. Sou Mãe. Sou a pessoa que educa a Rita, que passeia com ela, que brinca com ela, que a ensina coisas novas, que lhe conta histórias, que lhe dá banho, que a veste e calça, que cuida dela quando está doente, que lhe prepara e lhe dá as refeições, que a adormece, que a mima, que lhe dá beijinhos quando ela se magoa… Sou a pessoa que vai as compras, que cozinha, que limpa, que organiza, que lava a roupa, que arruma, que toma conta das cadelas e das tartarugas, que anda sempre a mil, a correr de um lado para o outro…
Desculpem-me o desabafo mas hoje já estendi e apanhei duas máquinas de roupa, varri a casa várias vezes, arrumei a roupa que foi passada a ferro, arrumei duas máquinas de loiça, cozinhei, trabalhei na Loja e… estou cansada!!!

I’m a full time mom.
Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to be a mom.
It’s the best thing in life, the biggest happiness, the greatest miracle!
But it’s also exhausting...
I’ve worked full time for 12 years and I’ve been at home for about 2 years now and let me tell you that working full time is a piece of cake!
I’ve worked in a fashion store, I’ve been an air hostess, secretary, I’ve always worked overtime and there’s no way I’ve worked so much.
And it really gets on my nerves when somebody asks me condescently if I’m a “staying at home person” (as if I was a kitchen supply) or if I’m “unemployed”...
No, I’m neither one or another. I’m a Mother. I’m the person that educates Rita, that takes a walk with her, that plays with her, that teatches her new things, that tells her stories, that gives her bath, that dresses her, that takes care of her whenever she’s sick, that prepares her meals, that gets her into bed, that pampers her, that kisses her whenever she gets hurt... I’m the person that goes to the grocery, that cooks, that cleans, that organizes, that does the laundry, that tides up, that takes care of the dogs and the turtles, that is always on the run from one thing to another...
Please forgive for sharing this with you (and my bad english), but today I’ve already hanged out and picked the washing twice, sweeped the floor several times, settled the fresh ironed clothes, settled the dishes twice, cooked, worked at the Store and... I’m tired!!!
